GET TO KNOW ALEX:
My name is Alex Bondi, I am a graduate of Point Park University, with a bachelor’s
Degree in Multimedia along with a concentration in Graphic Design. I was also the 4-year (2019-2023) starting first baseman for the University’s Softball Team.
Whether it was finger painting when I was 2 or now, creating a multitude of different designs or bodies of work throughout my career in the media field. I started playing on the computer at the age of 3. My mom always used to say that she knew I was going to grow up and have a passion for computer work; she just wasn’t sure in which direction. My mom is an artist, so I guess I get my genes from her. However, I was never able to create something beautiful with a pencil and paper like my mom could, but I always loved to sit with her and try to create something as beautiful as hers.
Over the years, I learned new aspects of the media world. When I walked into my first media class, as a freshman in high school, it was the basic premise of digital creation. I loved every second of it. I knew that in that moment, this was my calling in life. I then went on to take every media class I could. To this day, I still attribute and credit all of my skills to my media teachers at Peters Township High School: Ms. Robin Hodgin-Frick, Mrs. Nicole Sitler, Mrs. Erin Boni, and Mr. Kevin Bastos.
My work was then broadcast throughout the community. I was then offered a job as an assistant graphic designer for Valerie Thomas Photography.
After working for Valerie Thomas Photography and finishing up my high school career, I knew that this field is what I wanted to make my life out of. I then decided on Point Park after being recruited by Coach Michelle Coultas and falling in love with the School of Communications. I saw how much potential for growth I would have at Point Park, not only athletically but also professionally.
Being a member of the softball team throughout my whole college career has helped me improve my teamwork skills along with my work ethic. My time at Point Park is something that I will truly cherish.

As I graduated from college, I obtained an internship at the Peters Township Chamber of Commerce, where I was tasked with a complete rebrand. As my time at the Chamber was rather limited. I was able to truly jump-start their new look with new mockups of logo variations, templates for their recurring events, and a weekly newsletter. I was also able to learn different networking skills to help get my own name out.
I now work as the Graphic Designer and Head of Social Media at Pro Knitwear, a company that handles all of the apparel needs for the professional sports teams in Pittsburgh. Though the work is not limited to just teams in Pittsburgh. In many cases, I have had the opportunity to work with many of the opposing teams that come to Pittsburgh. At Pro Knitwear, I have been fortunate enough to test my skills as a designer, working for the pros is no joke! However, it has taught me precision, class, and in some cases camaraderie when it comes to my work.
As I progress in my professional career, I have found that nothing brings me more joy than helping someone bring their vision to life through creative media. I pride myself in the fact that I love to learn. If I do not know how to do it, I will learn how; I guess that is the athletic drive in me. I always want to produce my best not only for myself but for the team.
